Create & Celebrate Elder Arts is a month-long celebration of the creativity of older adults scheduled to coincide with Older Americans' Month in May. Throughout the month there will be performances, discussions, activities and exhibits highlighting the creative abilities of our diverse elders. The goals are to raise awareness of aging issues, reduce the stigma of Alzheimer's and related dementia, and improve the quality of life of older adults through creative engagement.
Each year, a series of events is scheduled and promoted on our website. Previous year's events are listed below.

Join the celebration of the creativity of our seniors! Follow the green & gold balloons! Green symbolizes the vitality of creative expression.Gold the valued experience of years.
From May 7th to May 16th senior living communities throughout Greensboro are showcasing the creativity of their seniors and the creative opportunities they offer by opening their studios. All events are free and open to the public. These events are a part of the Creative Aging Network - NC Create & Celebrate.

Monday, May 9, 3:30-4:30 River Landing Band Concert
River Landing at Sandy Ridge, John Knox Drive, Colfax, 27235. Enjoy a concert by this band, composed of residents, which blends the beauty of timeless music with the creativity of hand-made instruments.

Thursday, May 19, 5:30-7:30pm Artist Reception Join us for a Wine & Cheese Reception to honor 86 year old artist Leigh Rodenbough at Greenhill Center for NC Art, 200 N. Davie Street in Greensboro.
